Jason Tartick Discusses Wags and Walks, Dating Non-Negotiables and More
Jason Tartick has a few non-negotiables when it comes to a future partner and at the top of his list, she must be a fan of fur babies.
“I think my next girlfriend’s gotta love dogs,” Tartick, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly. “[She] has to be a fan of Teddy and the idea of rescuing. That’s so important.”
The Bachelorette alum adopted a rescue dog from the nonprofit Wags & Walks Nashville earlier this year. A few days before Valentine’s Day, Tartick posted on his social media asking if anyone knew of any nonprofits or dog rescues that he could volunteer at.
Wags & Walks reached out to Tartick about taking a tour of its facility and hanging out with a few pups, and he quickly took them up on the offer. On the first day, Tartick admitted to Us that he “fell in love at first sight” with a rescue named Rango at the time, whom he later renamed Teddy.
“When I met him, he just had this huge smile and energy and he was wild. And I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I fell in love literally at first sight,” Tartick told Us. “With him, his story’s crazy too. He was abused by his past owner and then he was in a shelter, and the shelter was an under-resourced shelter and overcrowded, which most are in the South. And he had about a week or two until he was gonna be euthanized, because a lot of these overcrowded and under-resourced shelters in the South, it’s all based on the time you were there. He had been there since November in an outdoor shelter through the winter. Wags & Walks had rescued him from the shelter the day before I went to volunteer. When I saw him, he wasn’t even technically, like, fully in their system yet. I fell in love at first sight. I was like, that’s my boy right there.”
Jason Tartick Details How New Dog Teddy ‘Saved’ Him: ‘Joy of My Life’
Wags & Walks has locations in both Los Angeles and Nashville, and the latter largely works to save dogs — of all breeds, sizes and ages — from overcrowded and under-resourced shelters in the South. The organization currently has a summer pop-up in the Hamptons, where they are transporting dogs from the South to try and connect them with potential adopters in higher adoption areas.
Some of the summer events they will be hosting include puppy yoga, shopping events at Dylan’s Candy Bar and Elyse Walker, Bark and Beach meetups, and more.

Jason Tartick Reveals How Much Revenue He Made From Podcasting in 2024
Beyond his furry companion, Tartick says that when it comes to finding love with a life partner, he’s looking for a “teammate.”
“Some of the things for me that are non-negotiable are support, loyalty, honesty through words and actions, consistency with care and respect, and also someone that just wants to just enjoy every aspect of life,” Tartick told Us. “I look up to my parents, but my parents have been married for over 40 years. And of course, through the 40 years, there’s always challenges. And to watch them overcome every challenge over these 40 years and continue to just truly fall more in love every day is like one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen. And they just always have each other’s back. I think that consistency and that teamwork are the dream for me.”
Tartick, who originally appeared on season 14 of The Bachelorette, is currently single after splitting from TikTok influencer Kat Stickler in October 2024. (He was also engaged to Kaitlyn Bristowe in May 2021 before they split in August 2023.)
But don’t expect him to go public with his private life anytime soon.
“Right now, I’m certainly keeping my dating life just very private for many, many reasons. And occasionally once in a while I’ll talk about it or tell a story or two on social media. But, you know, dating in 2025 has been a wild and interesting ride.”
